Bali's Backroads, One Unforgettable View at a Time

Your driver picks you up in Ubud and heads into the highlands on roads that most tour buses never take. The first stop is a working rice terrace viewpoint : the kind of open, uninterrupted vista that makes you understand why people fall in love with this island.

From there, you visit a temple for a Melukat purification ceremony guided by a local priest, before continuing up to a volcano viewpoint for lunch. The view over the crater and surrounding mountains is extraordinary : budget time here, you won't want to leave quickly. The afternoon brings you to a hidden waterfall deep in the jungle, where you can swim and cool off before the drive back to Ubud.
